Twin Ports Rosemaling Society of Duluth, Minnesota and Superior, Wisconsin was held on October 7th, 2006
Our very special guest this year was this lovely fjord horse, owned by Kit Davis.
The fjord horse is an ancient breed used to work in the fjords of Norway. It is a calm, quiet breed. This one is a 19-year-old brown dunn. The black in the center of his mane is indicative of his breed. The mane was trimmed behind his ears, but left long in front to protect his face from flies and bad weather. He's a work horse and occasionally pulls this sleigh.
Inside the building was filled with all kinds of Scandinavian crafts,
including twelve tables of rosemaling by the members of the Twin Ports Rosemaling Society.
